The limited polliwog from Spyderco
The Spyderco Poliwog™ is a compact limited edition knife by the legendary American company. It was designed according to a sketch by Eric Glesser, the son of the company's founder Sal Glesser. The knife as its prototype polliwog adapts to the environment, remaining compact EDC.
The folder is notable for its original design. It is graceful in both the open and closed position of the click. The Spyderco Poliwog™ was created by the hands of Japanese craftsmen from the city of Seki. Information about the place of production, as well as the serial number (120), are printed on the surface of the blade. There is also the emblem of Eric Glesser (the letter "E" with an arrow).
The knife is entirely made of steel, which gave it “weight” (166 grams). It gives the knife a smooth cut, during chopping and stabbing loads.
The knife opens with the patented proprietary Round Hole and is secured by a reliable and comfortable Ball Bearing Lock™ mechanism.
The blade has a swedge-grind which is emphasized with transverse satin. The hollow-ground edge blade is made of VG-10 — one of the best knife steels in the world. The alloy was developed by Japanese metallurgists. They achieved the hardness parameter 60-62 Hrc without sacrificing strength. This steel holds excellent sharpness and is renowned for its very high corrosion resistance. VG-10 knives are ready for the most aggressive work.
The stainless steel handle fits nicely in the palm. Its ergonomic shape with choils provides a good grip.
The weight is lightened due to the perforations, which simultaneously carry a decorative function and emphasize the stylish shape of the knife. Another significant accent is the designer wire-tension clip. It will firmly and carefully fix the knife on the pocket.
The features of the knife are ambidextrous.
