Although the model translates as "Hummingbird," in its green finish the knife is the spitting image of a grasshopper. It even chirps when opened — a melodic click that concludes the light, swift flip as the titanium frame lock engages.
The Hummingbird, despite its "child-sized" dimensions, boasts virtually all the premium features of a full-sized, high-tech tactical flipper: jimping on the spine for thumb purchase, a ceramic bearing at the pivot, and a hardened steel insert on the lock bar.
The decoration is a pleasure in itself. The damascus steel pattern's floral motifs pair beautifully with the three-dimensional botanical texture of the titanium handle and the perforations that mimic tiny wings. The emerald anodizing of the body, combined with the blue hardware and backspacer, gives the design a particularly vibrant richness.
