The wide, sculpted blade is forged from damascus steel created by one of the finest mosaic damascus smiths — Vladik Danilyuk. Notice the intricacy of the pattern — it's so complex it might as well be called steel DNA. This same exquisite pattern, in magnified form, adorns the bolster and the blade tang. The damascus is not just decorative — it offers excellent wear resistance and outstanding edge retention. On the handle, between the "glaciers" of damascus, stretches a black-and-yellow plain. This is no mere ivory inlay. Before you is a fragment of a prehistoric creature's tusk — the Gentical features a handle made from mammoth ivory, from an animal that roamed the earth over twenty thousand years ago. The ivory's palette is accentuated by the "golden" liner of anodized titanium.
