Custom M2 flipper with a San Mai blade
The tactical custom folder Allen Elishewitz M2, crafted in the finest traditions of American knifemaking. Which comes as no surprise — Elishewitz (alongside Emerson and Strider) was ahead of his time in the 1990s, setting the standards for tactical knife design for decades to come. The aesthetic of his work remains as relevant today as ever.
The blade is forged from three-layer Awase San Mai laminate. The Awase forging technique was developed by the master swordsmiths of ancient Japan. For their time, traditional Japanese swords and daggers possessed truly phenomenal cutting and chopping properties, strength, and durability. Blades crafted using San Mai Awase technology feature a core of high-hardness steel for prolonged razor-sharp cutting, with cladding of tougher steel grades that provide the necessary flexibility and resistance to stress. The core of the Elishewitz M2 blade is Crucible CPM S90V, with cladding of Crucible CPM 154. The blade shape is a drop-point. The finish is a multi-textured longitudinal satin.
The handle liners are anodized titanium with a checkered texture. The bolster is titanium with a bead-blast finish and grinding. The scale material is green micarta. Choosing a knife with micarta means forgetting about wear issues on the handle surface — scratches are no concern, and the material's slightly rough texture ensures it never slips in the hand.
The scales are joined by titanium barrel spacers anodized in bronze tones. The pocket clip is stainless steel with a bead-blast finish.
