The Greg Lightfoot custom bears the proud name of its owner — Canadian knifemaker Greg Lightfoot. This knife is like a Percheron — the son of an Arabian stallion and a French draft horse. At first glance, it appears to be a painted beauty, yet in practice, it's ready for the heaviest work. The folder is made from premium materials — but not so precious that you'd want to keep "Greg" behind glass. Its powerful 3 cm wide blade with a thick spine is ready to become your faithful companion. It's equally capable of heavy-duty tasks and delicate, fine work.
The blade features a leaf-shaped profile — the so-called Spear-Point. The master gave it the external appearance of a spearhead, achieved through a false edge along the spine — a solution that adds brutality to the knife's form and adapts it for piercing loads.
Yet the masculine shape doesn't appear crude. The luxurious pattern of Damasteel damascus — called Rose — introduces a note of elegance to the design. But don't be fooled by the delicate name — this damascus is forged from two grades of tool steel, offering excellent corrosion resistance, long-lasting edge retention, and easy sharpening.
The steel "Rose" has bloomed not only on the blade — the bolster and pocket clip are also crafted from it. The ergonomic handle scales, however, are made from bone. Their yellow-brown shimmer is echoed by hardware of golden anodized titanium. The thumb stud, adorned with a zirconium bead, provides a convenient one-handed opening — a light circular motion with the thumb and the custom is deployed. The construction is secured by a robust liner lock.
