Crocogirl by Maria Stalina® — a lanyard bead for those who like their knife to strike up a conversation before its owner does
At first, it seems as though you are looking at an ordinary crocodile. The teeth, the gaze that says ‘I’ve already figured out everything about this world’, the scales – as if its owner hadn’t been swimming in murky waters, but had long been a big boss who doesn’t like to repeat himself.
And then one tiny detail, that completely changes everything, catches your eye. A butterfly rests on the predator’s head. But it’s not some common one, it’s covered in sparkling stones. As if evil had accidentally popped into a jeweller’s and stepped out in an unexpectedly good mood.
Actually, that’s exactly what we’re all about. Deep down, every serious man harbours a little desire to bite, but to make it elegantly.
That’s exactly what ‘Crocogirl’ turned out to be: a bead for a knife that opens boxes as if setting butterflies free, and for a man who might say something sharply, yet in a way that still reveals a sense of care in his voice.
Every detail here captures the character. Her fangs, her audacity are all there, whilst on top lies friendship, lightness and a jewelled butterfly, reminding us of a simple truth: if the world hasn’t become a kinder place, that’s no reason to deny yourself beauty. And if you’re going to be formidable, at least do it with good taste.
