581-131 Gold Class Barrage — a limited-edition masterpiece from Benchmade
The Benchmade 581-131 Gold Class Barrage is the noble relative of the mega-popular Benchmade 581, designed by legendary knife designer Warren Osborne. Every folder in this limited-edition line is individually numbered. Our tactical knife has been graced with the lucky serial number "33," which it proudly bears beneath the blade spine.
This knife has a springtime personality. Its grey-blue design blends shards of ice with celestial azure, storm clouds with the audacity of the first thawing streams. It carries the spirit of change, with an elemental energy that churns within. Speaking of the elements — this knife is forged from premium materials that don't get wet in water and won't deform in fire. This is no fragile aesthete — it's a confident macho.
The damascus for the blade was commissioned from Devin Thomas — you won't find this pattern of waves and stars in any other model. The austere steel pattern is enlivened by a thumb stud of anodized titanium. This blue island is not just a treat for the eyes — it offers excellent thumb purchase, deploying the blade from the handle in a fraction of a second. The mechanism is secured by the AXIS®-Assist — the very patented Benchmade lock that propelled the company to the forefront of global knifemaking.
The overcast waves of damascus crash against the azure of the bolster and ripple outward across the grey-blue scales. The backspacer, like the bolster, is crafted from anodized titanium. The scales themselves are a composite of carbon fiber and G-10 fiberglass laminate. This multi-layered combination creates a texture that won't slip even from a wet palm. Moreover, G-10 is renowned for its fire resistance and exceptional strength.
The Benchmade 581-131 Gold is a convergence of three legendary names: the company Benchmade, designer Warren Osborne, and bladesmith Devin Thomas.
