The Harley-Davidson 13450 T-Rod is an iconic piece of merch from Benchmade, dedicated to the biker's holy grail — the Harley.
In 2008, Benchmade Knife began collaborating with Harley-Davidson. Then in 2011, Benchmade announced the release of the Harley-Davidson 13450 T-Rod, designed by Butch Ball. Today, this knife is a collector's rarity, as the model is no longer in production.
This is not an elegant folder, not a flipper — it's a crafty impostor that transforms in the blink of an eye from a friendly EDC into a push dagger. The Harley-Davidson 13450 T-Rod is the "easy rider" of American knifemaking — a knife that knows no templates, concealing its steel grin in a leather sheath adorned with a skull.
Our brute belongs to the caste of two-position knives. When first drawn from the sheath, it looks like a functional urban tactical knife. But one press of the release button and a flick of the wrist — and the hefty blade, hinged at the middle of the handle, swings perpendicular and locks solidly into place. Slip its elongated tang between your middle and index fingers — and you've got a nasty little aggressor gripped in your fist, perfect for... well, opening cardboard boxes, for example. Or slashing a villain's tires. The rest of its applications, we'll leave to your imagination.
The blade profile is a modified Clip Point transitioning into a Dagger. The blade is forged from a time-tested material — 440C steel. The fact that this alloy was originally used for bearings carries a certain motorcycle irony. The blade is locked in both positions by a reliable Ball Lock — no wobbling, no failure under thrusting force.
The pattern on the black anodized aluminum handle resembles tire tread marks. The ergonomic shape and textured scales work together for a solid grip.
The knife comes with a rugged black leather sheath that attaches easily to a belt and looks right at home with a dusty leather riding jacket.
