Art folder Kube Mondrian from the genius knifemaker Antonio Fogarizza
The work of the Italian knife creator Antonio Fogarizzu, the Mondrian art folder of the Kube model. This beautiful designer knife is one of the pearls of the Maria Stalina Knives knife collection, made by the Master in a single sample.
The knife was created based on the work of the Dutch artist Piet Mondrian (Pieter Cornelis Mondriaan). Along with Kazimir Malevich and Wassily Kandinsky, he stood at the origins of the flow of abstract art in the early twentieth century. Mondrian's work was repeatedly transferred from canvases to the high fashion industry and inspired interior design trends in the 60s and 70s of the twentieth century.
The profile of the product practically does not have smooth lines: carefully maintaining the style of Mondrian's works, the Author demonstrates the eclectic harmony and geometric aesthetics of Art Deco, embodied in three-dimensional space.
The blade of the Kube Mondrian folding knife is made in the Wharncliffe's shape with angular facets and a straight cutting edge. The smooth wavy pattern of Damascus, inscribed in the strict forms of the blade with combined flats, gives the knife a contrasting expressiveness. The line of the cutting edge is ending with a rectangular cut perpendicular to the hole. The artist plays with perspective, giving his creation a deceptive fragility and multi-layered spatial dynamics.
The titanium handle expands in cascading layers from the inlays to the liners. Colored anodizing in azure and ocher shades applied on the edges. Inlays are a combination of the ornamental mosaic of carbon and mother-of-pearl. The lock-liner flag is anodized into pearl spectrum. The tip-down clip has ocher and azure on the edge. Hardware is made of yellow metal.
We use the term "knife architecture" in an effort to describe the entire aesthetic depth and versatility of the semantic motives of art-knifemaking works. The uniqueness of artistic knifemaking lies in the combination of the utilitarian component of the knife with creativity and art in their primordial understanding. This level of work is not just a nifty cutting tool. These are the embodiment of the thoughts and passions of the Artists, which we call nothing other than "Reference knives".
