Dmitry Streltsov was born in Yekaterinburg in 1978. He graduated from Ural State University with a degree in Journalism and has been successfully working in this field till one day when he decided to change everything.
Streltsov for a long time was drawn to the aesthetic of “men toys” – custom knives, brutal jewelry, and EDC accessories. He decided to try making some of those things. So, in 2009 his story of a producer of titanium tactical pens, jewelry, and accessories began.
If you ask Dmitry “Why titanium?” he would respond “It’s simple. I didn’t know how to work with any material so I decided to learn with this one. I simply liked how it sounded – “made of titanium!”. Of course, I also paid attention to its characteristics – strong, light, corrosion-resistant, hypoallergenic – you can make things from it which would last forever”.
These days Streltsov P&A (Pens & Accessories) brand presents a team of masters of a different kind from Yekaterinburg and Moscow who produce lanyard beads, belts, walking sticks, rings, cufflinks, bracelets, and other accessories. However, pens remain a flagship product of the manufacturer, which Streltsov is particularly proud of.
Streltsov P&A manufacture is located in the Titanium Valley of Yekaterinburg. For his production, Dmitry Streltsov uses computer-controlled, CNC, manual lathes, and also 3D metal printing technologies.
Anodizing, chemical etching, shagreen, textured ornaments, DLC, jewelry (looks particularly cool in conceptional batch “Paleolithic”) are used for the items’ finishing. Polishing, engraving, and decorating objects with gems is always long and painstaking manual work. But it’s worth it!
The artistic and jewelry way of working with titanium makes Streltsov and his team stand out from the competitors. This metal is extremely reluctant to machining. For example, applying a pattern on a titanium surface you will have to replace an engraver three times more often than when doing the same job on silver. All products from Streltsov P&A are themed. The author draws his inspiration from 20th-century world aviation and Japanese medieval culture.
One of the most popular Streltsov’s pens is model “Ac” dedicated to the great aviators of the past. In stock variant pen’s body, finishing imitates aircraft skin of the old fighter jet. Limited editions are decorated with engraving with Nordic, military, marine, and other themes.
“Kamikaze” model with a modular system is no less known. You can change the length of these products by removing or adding blocks. These items with their shape resemble a bamboo stem. They usually get ornamented in Japanese style.
The “Icebreaker” model is widely popular, limited batches of which feature various finishes: monochrome and anodizing, abstract textures, characters, or whole plot compositions.
On the Russian market of authors’ accessories, Streltsov was the first to use titanium for household aesthetic needs. In the world of custom pens, there are still very few people who can compete with Streltsov. And that is not only in Russia.
Streltsov P&A manufacture (Streltsov Pens & Accessories) has representative offices in Japan and the United Arab Emirates. For clients from those countries, Streltsov produces limited batches with a number of features in design and finishing.
In the catalogs of the Maria Stalina Knives shop mainly limited-edition products with conceptual finishes are presented. They have not only aesthetic but collectible worth.
