Custom folding knife "Big Mook 1" by Alexey Dementiev
An exclusive one-off piece — unique in every sense.
The "Big Mook" blade is executed in an Eastern motif. The blade material is ultra-high-carbon ZDP189-ATS34 laminate — a top-tier tool steel. The blade surface is hand-satin finished. Notice the shape and finish of the hole on the blade spine. Given the sharpness of the angle, one might wonder how the inner walls of the hole were finished. The answer is simple: the finish was applied via beadblasting before the grinds were cut on the blade blank. The hole in the flipper tab was treated in the same manner.
The handle is crafted from titanium. The milled frame scales feature a complex multi-stage finish, including contour milling, stonewashing, patterned edge highlighting through anodizing, and treatment of the pivot screw, backspacer, and individual ornamental elements to achieve a texture resembling that of granite stone.
The backspacer is anodized in an emerald tone. The backspacer's end features a lanyard hole. The clip bears three-dimensional milling and a stonewash finish. The hardware is polished titanium.
