"Black Raven" in dragon skin
Justus Knives Black Raven — one of the most mystical creations of Alexey Dementiev, known as Justus. The Russian custom maker stays true to the principles of authentic craftsmanship — he finds it uninteresting to work on commission or produce replicas of his own work. Every Justus knife is unique and has no copies. The Black Raven, too, soars without a flock, existing as a one-off.
Black Raven is one of those cases where the name needs no explanation. The blade, the handle, and even the pivot screw echo the features of this fateful bird. The raven — a prophet, a messenger of the gods, the keeper of the Tower, and the muse of Edgar Allan Poe. To "birth" this fairytale beauty, Justus selected materials equally worthy of legend.
The Black Raven's powerful beak is forged from "dragon skin" damascus. This colored composite with its scaly pattern belongs to the highest league of blacksmithing artistry. The blade shimmers in every shade of black — from deep brown to anthracite. The steel's performance matches its appearance: the Black Raven's damascus holds an excellent edge and offers high resilience and wear resistance.
The custom's flip is powerful and assured, like the beat of a raven's wing. Notice the ergonomic flipper tab — its shape creates the perfect leverage for deployment. A reliable titanium frame lock keeps the blade safe from accidental closure.
The handle deserves applause of its own. Its titanium is anodized to the sheen of a raven's wing, while the artistic relief mirrors the pattern of bird feathers. On the damascus bolster pattern, dark blue-black "raven eyes" gleam. And the slots of the pivot screw and nut are different: on one side of the handle, the raven's eye is open; on the other, it is closed.
Black Raven is a bird of high flight. Design, materials, mechanics — everything is flawless. This is a true masterpiece of the knifemaker's art.
