Black carbon Justus Knives Kaa
Justus Knives Kaa is a custom flipper crafted by the hands of the legendary Justus (aka Alexey Dementiev). The knifemaker dedicated this model to the idol of his childhood — the wisest Kaa from "The Jungle Book." Though Kipling's long-bodied hero was a tiger python with a brownish-yellow coloration, Justus is an artist — he saw the wise python in his own way. The flipper is executed in a restrained, masculine style — a kind of tough black-and-white that you can carry in the pocket of rugged jeans and put to use by the campfire at your private villa.
The blade shape defies description, as it doesn't fit neatly into any classic knife profile. The master took the trouble to give the shape individual character, resulting in a Clip Point with a slightly concave spine. This form is versatile and suitable for any task a knife might handle. Kaa is no delicate creature — it's ready for hard use.
Edge retention and overall blade integrity are ensured by high-alloy American CPM-S125V steel. This alloy excels in wear resistance and strength, though it's not the easiest to work with. Now take a closer look at the delicate satin finish, evenly covering the blade surfaces — Justus can rightfully be proud of this work.
Now tear your eyes away from the satin and look at the flipper tab. Its shape is the perfect lever, allowing the knife to open with a light touch of the finger. The blade's flight is as swift as Kaa's strike on the Bandar-log. The flipper's blade is secured by a reliable steel liner lock.
High-quality carbon fiber lies on the handle in black waves. Its texture is not merely a decorative nod to the snake's body — it increases grip traction, ensuring the knife won't slip even from a wet hand. Counterbalancing the darkness of the carbon fiber are the steel "tongues" of the bolster and pocket clip.
Justus Knives Kaa is a work of knife art — restrained in color and expressive in form. This custom flipper is a one-off creation with no copies.
