Custom out-the-front UTX-70 Hellhound Tanto
A compact out-the-front folding knife from Marfione Custom Knives — the UTX-70 Hellhound Tanto. This is not just a stylish piece, but one with serious collectible value. Fans of OTF knives and Marfione's work in particular should definitely take a closer look at this specimen.
This little automatic knife is a joint project between Anthony Marfione and his son Sean — a futuristic tanto modification of the popular Microtech Combat Troodon Chassis.
The Hellhound blade is crafted from Böhler M390 Microclean powdered metallurgy steel, featuring the characteristic Eastern-style tip, a subtle fuller, and striking through-hole perforations. The spine is textured with semicircular notches that form a comfortable thumb ramp. The blade finish is mirror-polished.
The handle and sliding lock actuator are machined from lightweight aerospace aluminum with anodizing and a longitudinal satin finish. The handle hardware and the glass-breaker at the rear are crafted from titanium with blue anodizing. The scale bears the traditional Marfione Custom Knives logo.
The steel pocket clip is engraved with the unique serial number (020), the date of manufacture, the model designation (UTX-70), and a special logo featuring initials stylized as a skull with a dagger — used to mark collaborative projects between Sean and Anthony.
The knife comes complete with a metal certificate of authenticity signed by Anthony and Sean Marfione; a branded hang tag styled like a blade; a soft carrying pouch with a branded steel logo patch; a branded microfiber cloth for maintenance; and a presentation case with the Master's autograph and the inscription "Milan" — the piece was purchased by us directly from Anthony at the international knife show in Milan in November 2018.
