Chaves Knives
Heavy Duty Working Knives by Knife-Maker Ramon Chavez
Ramon Chavez is an American Knife Maker who create brutal, last a lifetime knives.
Ramon received his first knife as a gift when he was 8 years old. By 1993, a high school student Ramon already had a small knife collection.
Chavez crafted his first fixed-blade bowie knife using the chainsaw rod for a blade, brass for the guard, and horn for a handle.
Ramon got a job on the railroad and knife making was just a hobby. For over 10 years he has been making several knives a year. The situation has changed when in 2010 Ramon's colleague asked to make a knife for him and promised to pay. Chavez completed the order, and other knife making fans began to buy custom knives from him. Gradually, the hobby grew into a profession.
Tactical folding knives from Chavez have seen widespread success in the custom market. They were loved for their functionality, reliability and indestructibility. His knives are made for heavy-duty use. The master uses high-alloy American steels for blades which provides durability and edge retention, titanium for handle, sometimes with carbon inserts. He is making folders and flippers, preferably with a frame lock.
An obligatory element of all Chaves knives is a stylish clip with the image of a skull.
Chavez's logo is a key, the head of which is also a skull. The secret of love for skulls lies in the Mexican roots of Ramon Chavez and symbolizes Santa Muerte — the deity of death.
