Stedemon Knife Co. (SD) positions itself as a maker of premium-quality EDC knives offered at accessible prices. The company was born out of a deep passion for folding knives. Stedemon Knife Co. is a wholly Chinese company, and its owners take pride both in their roots and in the quality of their products. The company emphasizes that every Stedemon knife is designed from the ground up rather than copied from American or European brands.
The development process begins digitally. Each knife is designed as a 3D model before a physical pre-production prototype is created. These prototypes undergo extensive testing both in the company's laboratories and in real-world use. Feedback from testing leads to further refinements until the final prototype is ready for production.
That prototype then becomes the reference for the company's production models, ensuring that the finished knives remain faithful to the original design.
Stedemon regularly reinvests its revenue into upgrading and expanding its manufacturing capabilities. Company representatives attend trade shows in China, the United States, and Europe to explore new machinery and technologies for precision machining different materials. Meanwhile, Stedemon's engineers and programmers evaluate and test new CNC software to further improve the production process.
Although Stedemon folding knives were instrumental in establishing the company's international reputation, the brand's product range extends well beyond folders. It also includes various gadgets for outdoor use and everyday accessories, from spinners and carabiners to multitools and tactical pens.
Stedemon's designers are constantly experimenting with both materials and aesthetics. Until recently, G-10 handles were often distinguished by bright — and sometimes downright neon — colors. More recently, the company has increasingly turned to titanium, using sophisticated anodizing techniques to give its handles a distinctive appearance.
A notable feature of Stedemon knives is the company's use of high-quality American steels for its blades. The classic 440C remains one of its preferred choices, while the lineup also includes premium CTS-204P and the martensitic stainless steel CPM-S35VN.
The result is a range of modern Chinese EDC knives that combine advanced manufacturing, carefully selected materials, and distinctive contemporary design.
