The nimble compact Thor4s plain folder by Rike Knife
The army of fans of the Chinese company Rike Knife is growing worldwide. And it's no surprise — any knife enthusiast would want a beautiful, high-tech, ergonomic, and reliable folder of impeccable quality at an accessible price.
Meet the Thor4s — a miniature flipper from the Thor family, the brand's headline series. This compact powerhouse belongs to a limited edition, with each specimen individually numbered. Our Thor4s bears the number "294" on the blade.
Credit must be given to Rike Knife's wit: a folder with a total length of 14 cm has been named "Thor Force" (as Thor4s reads). And indeed, this little one is capable of feats. Its 6 cm blade is forged from premium Böhler M390 steel, handling a multitude of tasks with ease — whether in the office, at home, or on a stroll through the city or countryside. The integral handle, crafted from a single piece of TC4 titanium, can withstand the heaviest loads.
The flip is lightning-fast and effortless, thanks to a ceramic bearing installed at the pivot. A press on the flipper tab — and the blade springs from the handle in an instant. The open knife is secured by an excellent frame lock, whose spring is protected by a hardened steel insert — a "shield" that grants the lock eternal life.
Arguably no profile is more versatile than the clip-point. It excels at piercing, straight cuts, and even woodworking tasks. The renowned M390 steel helps realize the functionality built into the shape — it's low-maintenance (water, acids, and alkalis won't harm it), extremely tough, and holds an edge for a remarkably long time. The blade finish is a transverse satin with a matte stonewash, which harmonizes with the natural tone of the titanium.
The handle sits very comfortably in the palm. Its rich texture — composed of numerous perforations, jimping, grooves, and a subtle wavy pattern — ensures a secure grip. The knife won't slip even in a wet hand. The high-tech décor is seamlessly complemented by an original pocket clip, which securely holds the knife on the pocket while being gentle on fabric. The finishing touch is the metallic gleam of the pivot collar, adorned with the brand's logo.
