Rike knife (Richard Wu)

Rike Knife
China's remarkable economic transformation over the past decade has reshaped the way the world views Chinese manufacturing. Not long ago, the phrase "Made in China" was often associated with inexpensive products or even imitations. Today, many Chinese manufacturers stand alongside the world's leading brands, producing goods that combine advanced technology with exceptional quality. The knife industry is no exception. Alongside names such as WE Knife, Stedemon, Real Steel, Reate Knives, and Bestech, another rising force has firmly established itself on the international stage: Rike Knife, a maker of premium production and custom folding knives distinguished by their bold, futuristic design.
The story of Rike Knife began in 2008, when Chinese knifemaker Richard Wu founded his own company. Looking for a distinctive brand name, he started with the first letters of his own name before refining the sound into Rike, adding the natural companion Knife.
The company began as an OEM manufacturer, producing knives and components for other brands. That side of the business continues today and remains an important part of the company's success. Years spent manufacturing products to demanding international standards gave Richard Wu invaluable experience and the confidence to pursue his own design vision. Today, a growing portion of the company's production proudly bears the Rike Knife logo.
To launch its own collection, Rike expanded beyond skilled craftsmen by assembling a team of professional designers. Richard Wu has often cited companies such as Zero Tolerance, Microtech, and Russia's Shirogorov Brothers Workshop as benchmarks for quality and innovation. Rather than copying them, he adopted their uncompromising philosophy of craftsmanship and adapted it to his own factory. Wu has never hidden his ambitions, describing Rike as an innovative brand determined to challenge the conventions of traditional knifemaking.
The company backs those ambitions with premium materials and an impressive manufacturing facility equipped with advanced CNC milling, turning, grinding, and engraving machines, powerful laser systems, low-temperature heat-treatment equipment, and other state-of-the-art production technology.
Knives carrying the distinctive hexagonal logo quickly earned recognition among enthusiasts. Richard Wu chose to stand out through bold design — and the decision paid off. Rike knives are instantly recognizable for their striking high-tech aesthetic, often recalling the equipment of futuristic science-fiction worlds. Many models feature angular geometry, dramatic milling, intricate machining, aggressive texturing, and sculpted cutouts. At the same time, the company is equally capable of softer, more organic forms. The compact Cicada series, for example, draws inspiration from the insect of the same name, combining flowing lines with remarkable attention to detail.
Rike folders occupy the premium segment of the Chinese market while remaining highly competitive compared to many European and American brands. Much of their value comes from the uncompromising choice of materials. Blades are crafted from premium steels such as Böhler M390 and 154CM, both widely respected among knife enthusiasts for their performance. Handles are typically machined from 6Al4V titanium, prized in both aerospace and medical industries for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. Depending on the model, G10 scales and carbon fiber inserts add further variety. Finishes range from machine satin and mirror polish to DLC coatings, stonewash treatments, or carefully executed combinations of multiple finishes. Smooth, effortless deployment is ensured by ceramic ball bearings in the pivot assembly.
Today, Rike Knife products are sold throughout North America, Europe, Australia, and many other parts of the world. Models such as Thor, Knight, and Hummingbird have built loyal followings among collectors and everyday carry enthusiasts alike. With its combination of futuristic design, advanced engineering, premium materials, precise heat treatment, and outstanding action, Rike Knife continues to establish itself as one of the most exciting names in modern knifemaking. We are pleased to present a carefully selected collection of the brand's finest folding knives.
