The company decided to build on that success by releasing three variants of the 0888 model. Before you is arguably the coolest modification — featuring a blade of Carpenter Maxamet high-speed tool steel. Only 250 of these were ever made. Maxamet is an extraordinary steel. The blade hardness reaches an astonishing 68 HRC! In other words — "try dulling this." The steel's strength is equally impressive, and it's reliably protected from corrosion by a black diamond-like DLC coating. The 0888 Max is a universal soldier.
The drop-point blade profile endows this tactical knife with broad functional capabilities: excellent penetrating power for thrusting and a satisfying, even cut. The 0888 MAX was built for the most aggressive use — don't disappoint its creators; put this folder through its paces.
The curve of the fuller runs the entire length of the blade and finds a natural continuation in the flipper's ergonomic handle. All of its components — including the perforated backspacer — are crafted from high-quality titanium and also coated with DLC. The handle sits comfortably in the palm, its shape ensuring a secure grip.
The knife features a lightning-fast flip — a light touch on the flipper tab and the folder is ready for action. The blade's swift deployment is the work of ZT's signature ball bearings, installed at the pivot. In the open position, the blade is secured by the frame lock mechanism, with the titanium lock bar tip protected from wear by a hardened steel insert.
The knife sits beautifully on the pocket, held in place by a small but tenacious clip of a very distinctive design.
