Hi-tech, the East, and an adjustable handle
The Holy Grail of the collectible knife world — Technobamboo. It turns collectors into hungry pandas.
The fruitful duo of the Shirogorov Brothers Workshop and Dmitry Sinkevich (SiDiS) have created a model that impresses with its design and unique mechanics. The knife was released in an extremely limited run — just 10 (!) pieces. The proud inscription "5/10" on the handle tells you that this is the fifth member of that glorious ten.
The appearance of the Technobamboo is strikingly different from the strict, classic Shirogorov models. The design boldly crosses hi-tech aesthetics with Eastern culture. The result is unusual, yet remarkably harmonious. The handle's articulation truly resembles a bamboo stalk and pairs beautifully with the exquisite multi-grind of the blade.
The knife's engineering is no less impressive than its form. The handle features a unique adjustable geometry. You can choose from three positions for the backspacer, tailoring the folder to fit your hand perfectly.
The Bamboo's flip is also unusual — it's a front-flipper. The blade snaps out of the handle in a flash with a single sweeping motion. The dynamics are driven by Shirogorov's proprietary double-row bearing system installed in the pivot assembly.
Once open, the blade is securely locked by a titanium frame lock. Take a closer look at its spring — the massive hardened steel lock insert could easily be called a "monster"! With a guardian this size, the blade has nothing to fear.
The blade profile blends tanto and scramsax elements. The elongated, curved cutting edge gives the flipper a beautifully smooth, even cut. The blade is forged from premium European Vanax 37 steel, which holds its edge longer than the famous Elmax and offers superior strength and corrosion resistance.
While the robust blade is finished with a transverse satin, the adjustable handle features a brutal stonewash finish. A small delightful secret of the décor — the barrel spacer between the scales is anodized in blue.
The flipper sits comfortably in the hand, providing maximum control over every cut.
The knife comes complete with an original bronze adjustment tool.
Technobamboo is a star of our personal collection. And for those looking to expand their own collection, we recommend taking a look at another creation from Sinkevich and Shirogorov Knives — the Tetra flipper.
